We've never been so near to one another—media and algorithms amplify each other's presence to the point of becoming inseparable shadows.
Yet we have never felt so distant— Contact severed by media, Everything reduced to bytes, signals, pixels.
A PNG image of the iris is overlaid with a machine vision algorithm, continuously refreshing a potential “emotion” within the other person's pupil.
A shimmering text input box seeps from the crevice of her lips— those unfinished, hesitant sentences, occasionally shattering into binary and ASCII gibberish.
This work attempts to evoke a surreal sense of ambiguity—a feeling of wanting to convey something yet never quite reaching it, as if the connections forged through the internet are nothing more than that.
